Clearscreenshot Privacy Policy
Clearscreenshot is a browser extension that captures screenshots of web pages and lets you annotate and export them.
Data we collect
None. Clearscreenshot does not collect, transmit, sell or share any personal data, browsing history, page content or screenshots. Clearscreenshot makes no network requests.
How your data is handled
- Screenshots, annotations and recognized text are processed entirely inside your browser.
- Your screenshot history and screen recordings are stored locally in your browser (IndexedDB) and never leave your device. You can turn history off, delete recordings or clear everything in Settings.
- Screen recording only starts after you choose what to record in the browser's picker. If you turn on the microphone or camera, the audio and the camera picture are used only on your device: the microphone is recorded into the recording, and the camera appears in a small floating window that is never uploaded.
- Your settings are stored locally. If you turn on "Sync settings across devices", only the settings (such as theme, language and export options) are stored in your browser's sync storage, which is provided by your browser account. Screenshots and history are never synced.
- Text recognition uses an engine and language data bundled with the extension and runs offline.
Permissions
Clearscreenshot uses activeTab and scripting to capture the page you choose only after you click the icon, use a keyboard shortcut or the context menu; storage and unlimitedStorage to keep settings and local history; contextMenus for the right-click menu; clipboardWrite to copy images and text; offscreen to run the screen recorder in a hidden page. Clearscreenshot requests no host permissions.
Third parties
Clearscreenshot does not use analytics, advertising or any third-party service.

- 截图历史和屏幕录像保存在你浏览器的本地数据库（IndexedDB）中，不会离开你的设备。你可以在设置中关闭历史、删除录像或一键清空。
- 屏幕录制只会在你于浏览器的选择器里选好录制内容之后才开始。开启麦克风或摄像头时，声音和摄像头画面只在你的设备上使用：麦克风的声音会录进录像，摄像头只显示在一个小的悬浮窗里，都不会上传。
- 设置保存在本地。如果你开启「跨设备同步设置」，只有设置项（如主题、语言、导出选项）会存入浏览器账号提供的同步存储，截图和历史记录不会同步。
- 文字识别使用随扩展打包的引擎和语言数据，离线运行。
权限
Clearscreenshot 使用 activeTab 和 scripting，仅在你点击图标、使用快捷键或右键菜单后截取你选择的页面；使用 storage 和 unlimitedStorage 保存设置和本地历史；使用 contextMenus 提供右键菜单；使用 clipboardWrite 复制图片和文字；使用 offscreen 在隐藏页面里运行录屏。Clearscreenshot 不申请任何站点主机权限。
